Ag47 is an informal partnership of two friends, Jeanette Cook & Dave Kilford, which we began in 2004.  Previously neither of us showed our work publicly.  We design & make the jewellery ourselves, mainly using silver & semi-precious stones.  We like to make our pieces special & individual - even with our most popular designs, we vary the interpretation so that each piece is unique.

The techniques that we each favour differ.  Dave began making jewellery using silver smith-ing methods, whereas Jeanette has always preferred bending, weaving, wrapping & tying the stones & silver.  However the more we work together, the more we stray into the other’s ‘territory’.  We both feel that the materials strongly influence the design & often enjoy to start work on a piece with no fully formed idea of a desired outcome.  We influence each other so that although we still make some pieces individually, many are a collaboration of ideas, & increasingly also of workmanship.
