Mick Hampshire was born in Medway in 1958. Since 1982 he has lived on a houseboat in Rochester, with his partner, fellow exhibitor, Sarah Crouch. They rent adjoining studios overlooking the river.
Mick has sold his paintings from several London galleries and has exhibited in Cork St. among other places. He has collectors in Europe, America and Australia as well as Britain and Ireland. Mick paints in oils on his home-made canvasses. He names Hieronymous Bosch as his major influence.
Alongside painting, songwriting is also a passion and an artistic outlet. Mick was a founder member of the now legendary group “Three Milkshakes” and has recently toured America and Europe with his present group the “Masonics”.
