Born in Canterbury, Jim is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Arts in Piccadilly, London.

He works with plastic resin, emulsion and ink to create shifting landscapes that define and constrict space. The work merges abstract painting with the inherent self-explanatory nature of cartography.

His practice also includes exploration into video, casting and portraiture.

"I use emulsion and ink to surround spontaneous marks made with resin- a way of recapturing fast expressive beginnings with a time consuming end."
